Narrowing down on a specific time period was the first and most crucial step of the project. The Parisien department store history started around 1838 with the opening of the "Au Bon Marché" and many stores are still open today.

After many hours of research, we decided to go with 1910 - 1920. This period (also known as the end of "Belle Époque") allowed us to expand into more decorative elements, as for example sinuous curves of plants or flowers.

In the first draft, different logos emerged based on my different research. Based on the selected logo, I started to create different patterns that would be used as lines and decorations for the different elements.

One of the main objectives of the booth was to display fabrics and accessories that people used to be able to buy directly during that time period at department stores. At the time, they were also able to order different models and choose the pattern or the fabric.

With this in mind, I designed a model panel to present the differents options available. You can find two models for the women (night gown/evening dress), two for the children (summer holiday clothes) and two for the men (indoor wear).

To stay true to the department store and their store counter, I also designed multiple price tags, an order form, a sample panel, a sales book and a button panel.

The final result, full of different accessories, is an invitation to order your own garment. The following pictures were taken on the opening night of the exhibition.
